Stop the Violence: Walk/Run for Peace

Join us Saturday, September 10th at 8:30am as NWSCDC hosts a Stop the Violence: Walk/Run for Peace on Milwaukee's North Side.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, incidences of crime, homicide, domestic violence, and reckless driving have increased dramatically in the City of Milwaukee. The goal of this Walk/Run for Peace is to have the community come together to focus on solutions as to how we can promote change, create healthy lifestyles, and encourage positive behavior within our neighborhoods.

Building a culture of peace in our community will be a continuous effort. It will take all of us working together to meet this need. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families, one neighborhood and one block at a time.

The 3.9 mile Walk/Run will start and end at the Century City Tower (4201 N. 27th Street). Registration begins at 8:30am, and we will depart promptly at 9:00am.

We will provide free t-shirts, snacks, and a water stop along the route. Resources will be available after the Walk/Run. All ages welcome!

Free parking is available in the lot behind the Century City Tower building (enter lot from Hope Avenue).

Register for the free event HERE.

Rain date: Saturday, September 17th (same time & location)
