NWSCDC and the West Basin Public Art Workgroup is collaborating with environmental experts and a local artist to lead two neighborhood walks near MMSD's West Basin property this fall. The planned walks are a part of the WaterMarks art project community engagement process. The goal of each walk is to help guide the art-making process and help educate people about the importance of water and nature in our daily lives. The walk will last approximately 30-40 minutes, is free and open to the public. We encourage you to wear comfortable walking shoes, long sleeves, long pants, a hat and to bring water.
Walk #1: Animals, birds, & plants around the West Basin & Lincoln Creek
Walk description: Join our Walk Leaders for a gentle stroll ending in art making within the Lincoln Creek neighborhood! Drawing materials and blankets for sitting will be provided. After our walk, participants will have a chance to give creative input on what they want to see for the new public art installation. Feel free to bring a lawn chair!
