Groundbreaking for the new Villard Square development will take place on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of N. 34th St and W. Villard Ave. The ceremony will include Mayor Tom Barrett, Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) Executive Director Antonio Riley, Milwaukee Public Library Board of Trustees President Ald. Ashanti Hamilton (who also represents this area on the Milwaukee Common Council), Milwaukee Public Library Director Paula Kiely, Northwest Side Community Development Corp. (NWSCDC) Executive Director Howard Snyder, and representatives from Gorman & Company, a development and construction company.
