How To Organize a Fall Neighborhood Cleanup
Organizing a neighborhood clean-up is a wonderful opportunity to get to know your neighbors and beautify your neighborhood at the same time. Below are a few suggestions for planning and implementing a neighborhood cleanup.
- Take a look around your neighborhood to figure out where you might want to start.
- Organize a planning meeting with the residents in the neighborhood.
- Find a meeting space, a church, school, library, or someone’s house.
- Set your date and reserve the large roll-off dumpsters. Contact the Sanitation Division at 414-286-2489
- Locate a site large enough to accommodate roll-off containers.
- Get the word out to the neigborhood by passing out flyers
Consider organizing a social event for everyone at the end of the clean-up. Hot Dogs and Ice Cream always hit the spot after a hard day at the neighborhood clean-up!
Thanks for organizing a fall neighborhood clean-up! Remember, you can advertise your neighborhood cleanup right here on the Northwest Side Community Connection website.
