Neighborhood Improvement Project
Ground Breaking has begun for the Solar Lamp Post on the 4300 block of North 29th Street.
The residents on 29th street have been very involved in this project, it began last year. They canvassed the neighborhood, spoke with several residents and decided that they needed to improve the physical characteristics of the neighborhood, and increase the value of the block. The group has met on several occasions and established 9 residents that were committed to work on the project.
The Coalition For HopeĀ 29th Street BlockĀ recieved $2500 from the TIN Small Scale Block Improvement Project, and Lowes Foundation Grant.
The Targeted Investment Neighborhood (TIN) is a program in which the City of Milwaukee focuses funds and resources in a small area (6-12 blocks) for approximately three years. The goal of the program is to support and encourage owner occupancy and responsible landlords to improve the safety and appearance of the neighborhood.
